1993-1999 Nuclear Field Electronics Technician - US Navy

 

Attended a 24 week Naval electronics school teaching schematic reading, basic electronics and theory, logic circuitry, radio, radar, and basic troubleshooting techniques.

 

Assistant Instructor: Trained over 240 students in basic electronics and troubleshooting techniques using practical labs and "one-on-one" instruction.

 

Transportation Manager: Developed and implemented a maintenance tracking program for a naval hospital’s aging motor fleet, including five ambulances, which resulted in shorter down time and significantly reduced corrective maintenance.

 

Assistant Network Administrator: Assisted in the design and implementation of a twenty terminal LAN, including remote access via a WAN bridge.

 

Reactor Operator: Qualified to supervise, operate, and maintain a naval nuclear power plant including:

   

Troubleshooting reactor plant gear using schematics and/or test equipment and performing corrective maintenance during time critical at-sea equipment failures.

   

Scheduling preventive maintenance on reactor plant instrumentation and control equipment.

   

Attending a six-week course in advanced electronics including troubleshooting down to the component level, NASA grade soldering techniques, component board repair, and advanced test equipment operation.

 

Logroom Yeoman: Maintained a large number of departmental records and handled revisions for all technical manuals - in addition to normal duties. Praised for efficiency and foresight during the ship’s inactivation and destruction of all department records and manuals.

 

Training Coordinator: Supervised the training of twenty divisional personnel generating personalized exams and training programs, tracking progress, and maintaining previous electronics knowledge leading to 100% qualification and improved interdivisional efficiency.
